Silver plated bronze and black patina Seven-Light Candelabra after Pierre Philippe Thomire (French, 1751-1843)
Note: The design for this pair of candelabra is inspired by examples of Thomire's work such as the 1819 Demidoff Vase, conserved in the Metropolitan Museum, by virtue of his use of malachite and bronze doré, and the c. 1810-1815 Scrymser Candelabra, also conserved in the Metropolitan Museum, with its foliated and deeply scrolled trumpeted branches.
